On my second marriage with five incredible children from my first.
In July of 2016 my life changed over night. The change had me move states with very little finances, my adult children I had to leave behind with their father and suddenly I found myself having to start life all over again at the age of 46 years old.
Together with my then 9 year old son we drove to my parents home with a car full of suitcases. The next day I was in an unemployment office speaking with a social worker over the phone. The social worker was fantastic and provided me with a lot of assistance and information.
“It was real I had left an emotionally/spiritually abusive marriage”.
From my own pain and triumphs I write with passion to connect with individuals who know what it is to be stuck and have no way out.
As humans our goal is to be happy. We may marry the person we believe is the right one.
It doesn’t always succeed!
It can be hard to accept that a relationship might be abusive. I was in denial for decades as I desperately wanted the marriage to work. In that process I denied myself of true happiness and peace.
When we ignore what is going on our physical and mental worlds start to unravel and it takes a toll. We cant let unhealthy situations be a burden that we carry for years on end.
The earlier you begin to acknowledge the core issues the better it will be for you in the long run.
You do not need to be a martyr for someone else’s pain while they choose not to deal with it. You do not need to put yourself last. You don’t need to accept abuse whatever the form it takes. Abuse is abuse and it is harmful to anyone.

Really, 5 children? Amazing you have the time for anything. My wife and I have one daughter and I feel claustrophobic, always. Awesome website!
Yes 5 children 🙂 Four of them are adults now and the youngest is turning 9. That being said when you are a parent you are always a parent! Through the good and the bad and YES there are tough days however, it is all worth it. With the first child you learn ALOT so the second child is much easier 🙂 Thanks for your encouraging comment, much appreciated!
